Sustainability

At Solid Logistics Solution, we have firmly established responsibility as a core corporate value in our revised strategic approach. This means prioritizing health, safety, and environmental protection in all our business activities while maintaining high ethical standards.

We are convinced that our long-term success depends on meeting our customers' needs today without compromising the quality of life for future generations or the environment. Therefore, we actively integrate the principles of sustainable development across our entire value chain and encourage our employees to engage in these principles.

We fulfill our commitment to harmonizing our socio-ecological responsibility with our business interests through six key action areas. Our annual sustainability report highlights our efforts in these areas and details specific measures we take to achieve our high standards.

To ensure transparent and meaningful reporting, we adhere to the criteria of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the German Sustainability Code (DNK).

Responsibility

Corporate Governance

Our activities are not only economically relevant but also have significant ecological and social impacts. Therefore, responsible corporate governance at Solid Logistics means ensuring our company’s future viability and strong reputation by pursuing a “beyond-compliance” approach and integrating the expectations of our stakeholders into our business activities.

We recognize the potential impact of our business activities on people and the environment. Thus, we strive to integrate the principle of sustainable development in all our endeavors, promoting the welfare of our employees, the environment, and the surrounding communities. Our sustainability management focuses on Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) and is coordinated by the Group Function HSSE.

All of the larger Solid Logistics companies have designated local HSSE managers who oversee all HSSE-related topics and questions. Additionally, a dedicated Team Sustainability within the Group Function HSSE pools all related activities and further develops them in close coordination with the operating units and local HSSE managers. Sustainability issues are reported directly to the CEO via the Head of the Group Function HSSE.

By maintaining this robust governance structure, we ensure that our operations align with our commitment to sustainable development and responsible business practices.

Labour Standard

Compliance with the standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO) is laid down in our binding Code of Conduct. Furthermore, we determine here that salaries shall be regulated based solely on qualifications, performance, and other work-related factors such as responsibility, skill, and experience. Factors such as gender, age, race, religion, marital status, or disability have no influence on salaries. In addition to the competitive base salary, we voluntarily offer comprehensive supplementary benefits, and in most countries in which we operate, we offer a voluntary, additional employer-financed company pension.

Equal Opportunity

We see diversity as a key to success, both in our lines of business and among our employees. We aim to further increase diversity within our company by employing both male and female employees from many different cultures.

Employees from 84 nations work for us around the world. All employees can anonymously report cases of discrimination, harassment or other violations of the Code of Conduct to the central Code of Conduct Team and via the at any time.

Health And Safety

Preventive Medical Care

For employees based in Germany, we offer a free preventive medical check-up every two to three years. We encourage our worldwide sites to develop comparable programs locally, ensuring all our employees have access to essential medical care.

Fire Protection

Past incidents in our industry have shown that technical measures, organizational processes, and rules alone are not always sufficient to prevent fires. Therefore, we place great importance on increasing our staff’s risk awareness and ensuring a quick response to emergency situations through regular drills. SOLID LOGISTICS SP. Z O.O. has implemented a mandatory Fire Protection Standard consisting of company-wide minimum requirements that often exceed legal requirements.

Risk Assessment

Given the variety of activities within our group of companies, it is crucial to evaluate all risks individually. Based on this analysis, we implement tailor-made measures and establish specific standards and work instructions. To learn from accidents, we go beyond purely statistical evaluations. Accidents are analyzed in detail to identify company-wide potential for improvement. Additionally, our proactive approach includes promotion campaigns designed to increase risk awareness in daily routines.

Contractor Safety Standards

We continuously improve our contractors’ HSSE standards. To this end, SOLID LOGISTICS SP. Z O.O. developed a manual on contractor safety. A web-based database assists our sites in selecting contractors based on predefined criteria, ensuring consistent safety and quality standards across all operations.
